Thanks to DMBC's Ceremonial Mayor Margaret Pinkney for attending and drawing the raffle which was won by Hazel Roberts. Some of us helped Hazel eat her prize - a chocolate cream cake.
All refreshments were provided free by the management committee. The sandwiches (from Crumbs) and buns (from the Taikwondo Group) went down well with endless cups of tea and coffee served up by our caretaker Lynn Docherty.
Here are a few pictures of Rosso residents of all ages enjoying themselves at the Open Day :-
OPEN DAY Saturday 10/10/09 - A GREAT SUCCESS
Open Day at the Parish Community (Memorial) Hall was a tremendously successful day. The static displays (Art, Writers, History, Walkers, Wheelers, Bees, Allotments, Care Services and NHS) were well received and generated much interest. There was a long queue of children for the Face Painting. The activities in the hall (male choir, female choir and Gigong) raised spirits and knees. The Bingo and Quiz kept us on our toes. The free tea, cakes and sandwiches refreshed us. The Ceremonial Mayor, DMBC Councillor Ross Jones, congratulated Parish Council chairman Terry Wilde, the Management Committee and those attending for their community spirit. The successful day was a fitting memory to Jackie Clark. A number of people suggested an Open Day should become an annual event.
